Online Security Statement

We Work To Ensure Privacy and Security During Your Online Sessions

The information you provide to us online is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. SSL is the leading security protocol for data transfer on the internet. This technology scrambles your account information as it moves between your PC’s browser and First National Bank of Moose Lake’s computer systems. When information is scrambled, or encrypted in this way, it becomes nearly impossible for anyone other than First National Bank of Moose Lake to read it. This secure session helps protect the safety and confidentiality of your information when you bank with us online.

We will allow you to enter your password a limited number of times.   Too many incorrect passwords will result in the locking of your online account until you call us to reactivate.  As an added safeguard, Online Banking access “times out” after a specified period of inactivity.

We use multi-factor authentication by use of software token which requires a three-step process. First, a random security code is generated by the server, then a challenge question is asked containing information known only by the user, and finally a PIN and viewing image known as a Security Key is displayed.  This key is selected by the user and can be either text or picture based.  This key helps the user verify they are on the genuine financial institution site, rather than a “spoofed” site operated by cyber crooks aiming to steal personal financial information.  The Security Key then appears on every page during the user’s visit to the site.

Maintenance of Accurate Information

It is in the best interest of both you and the bank to maintain accurate records concerning your personal information. For this reason, First National Bank of Moose Lake allows you to update your personal information online, at any time, through secure messaging within our First Net Banking product which is sent to the bank’s secure administration site.

Limited Employee Access to Personal Information

First National Bank of Moose Lake limits employee access to your personal information to only those bank administrators with a business reason for knowing such information. First National Bank of Moose Lake also educates all employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. In addition, individual user names and passwords are used by approved bank personnel to access your personal information online, providing audit trails to further safeguard the privacy of your personal information.

Third-Party Disclosure Restrictions

First National Bank of Moose Lake follows strict privacy procedures in regard to protecting your personal information. In addition, the bank requires all third parties with a business need to access this information to adhere to similar and equally stringent privacy policies. Personal information may be supplied to a third party in order to process a customer transaction; if the customer requests it; or if the disclosure is required or allowed by law (i.e. exchange of information with reputable reporting agencies, subpoena, or the investigation of fraudulent activity, etc.).

Your Responsibility

When your Internet Banking account is established, we will provide you with a username and password to access your accounts through the internet. The first time you attempt to access your accounts, you will be prompted to change your password. It is important that you memorize your password and not convey it to anyone else. You must make sure that no one is watching you enter your password and that you properly exit your Internet Banking session/browser before leaving the computer. The Internet Banking system allows you to change your password anytime and you should change your password frequently.
