Chief Credit Officer
The Chief Credit Officer (CCO) is responsible for an individual portfolio of loans, as well as managing the Bank’s overall loan portfolio. This position is responsible for helping generate new loan volume for the Bank. Within the portfolio managed and within authority guidelines, the CCO will be responsible for credit decisions, overall credit quality, and fee income.
The CCO will manage the lending, analysis, and loan support staff. This responsibility includes managing the credit analysis function of the Bank to ensure that all loans meet the Bank’s underwriting criteria. This position is also responsible for managing the loan support functions of the commercial lending department. These functions would include documentation preparation, payments, advances, loan setup, ticklers, etc. In addition, this position is responsible for the recruitment, training, and evaluation of all staff within the Loan department. As a Department Head, this position will be an active participant in the Senior Management team which determines the overall strategic direction for the Bank.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
Required Education and Experience
Associates degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field with five to seven years of experience in lending, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field with seven to ten years of experience in lending, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Member of professional career organizations related to banking and consumer or mortgage lending a plus.
